In Loving Memory of Yee Kuen Chiu Cheung
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Yee Kuen Chiu Cheung, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
Yee, 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2023 in Princeton, NJ. She was born in Canton, China to Tze Dao Chiu and Bik Haan Ng.
Yee possessed extraordinary strength, unwavering kindness, and a generous spirit, always ready to assist her friends in numerous ways. Born during a time of great turmoil, she lived through the challenges of the 2nd World War, emerging as a beacon of resilience and hope. With a passion for education, she dedicated herself to nurturing young minds as an elementary school teacher. She enjoyed teaching music, arts and theater. In the late 80's, Yee embraced a new chapter in her life, immigrating to the United States, where she continued to spread her warmth and compassion.
She found immense joy in spending time with her late husband Kin Wah, her children and grandchildren, cherishing every moment with them. Her love knew no bounds, and her family was the center of her universe. In her spare time, prior to her advanced stage with dementia, she enjoyed gardening, traveling with family, attending her school's alumni reunion activities in Hong Kong and China, attending Sunday worship, going to the senior center, socializing with friends.
Predeceased in death by her beloved husband Kin Wah Cheung in 2013 and daughter in-law Hsiaman Cheung in 2022. She is survived by her son Kwong Chi; her four daughters Ming, Mae and husband Stephen Ng, Ki and husband Kwok Hung Ng, Lilian and husband Boniface Lee; her five grandchildren Timmy Cheung and wife Christine, Gary Cheung, Andy Ng and wife May, Christopher Ng, and Alexandra Lee; her great-granddaughter Maya Cheung; as well as her many loving friends and family.
