Xuejie Liu, of Plainsboro passed away Sunday morning, October 13, 2024 in his home with his wife, younger daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter at his side. He was 89 years old/young.

Xuejie was born on April 15, 1935, in Yiyang, Henan Province, China to Zhanbiao Liu and Liu Han. He attended Luoning High School, where he met his future wife, Suqin Lu. After high school, he joined the Air Force and moved to multiple places, eventually to Quzhou, Zhejiang Province. After his discharge from the military, he and his family moved back to his and his wife's hometown, settling in Luoyang where he took a job at a hospital as the head administrator until he retired.

Xuejie raised his children by example to be hard-working, responsible, and charitable. He and his wife also helped raising their granddaughters. He was a true learner and a writer; he devoted himself to learning English. Those close to him knew he loved helping someone in need.

Xuejie is survived by his wife, Suqin Lu; his daughter Jingxiao Liu and husband Hongyong Jin, along with their daughter Xiaowei Jin, son-in-law Qi Yang and grandson Ruichen Yang; his daughter Jinghua Liu and husband Michael Walker, along with their children Sophia Walker and Mia Walker; nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.

A memorial service will be held on November 23, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Kimble Funeral Home, One Hamilton Avenue, Princeton, NJ 08542.

刘学杰于2024年10月13日星期日早晨在新泽西州普莱恩斯伯勒的家中去世,身边有妻子、幼女、女婿和外孙女。他享年89岁。

刘学杰于1935年4月15日出生于中国河南省宜阳,父母为刘战标和韩六。他曾就读于洛宁高中,在那里结识了未来的妻子陆素琴。高中毕业后,他加入了空军,并多次迁居,最终定居于浙江省衢州市。退役后,他和家人回到自己和妻子的故乡,定居在洛阳,担任医院的院长,直到退休。

刘学杰以身作则,培养孩子们勤奋、负责任和乐于助人的品质. 他和他的妻子还无私地帮助抚养了他们的外孙女们。他终身致力于学习和写作,并一直自学英语。认识他的人都知道他喜欢帮助有需要的人。

刘学杰的遗族包括妻子陆素琴、女儿刘惊霄及其丈夫金红勇,外孙女金笑薇、外孙女婿杨祺和曾外孙杨睿晨;女儿刘惊华及其丈夫迈克·沃克,及其子女索菲亚·沃克和米娅·沃克;以及侄子侄女、亲朋好友等。

追悼会将于 2024 年 11 月 23 日上午 11:00 至中午 12:00 在 Kimble Funeral Home 举行,地址为新泽西州普林斯顿汉密尔顿大道 1 号,邮编 08542。
