William Lawrence Holmes, four score and 10, passed away Thursday evening, March 19, 2026. He is predeceased by his parents, Lawrence Michael and Anne Murphy Holmes, as well as his daughter Erin C. Wedeking. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, of 70 years, married 69, and his children Tara Anne (Paul) Bennett, Lawrence Michael (Angela LoRicco) Holmes and William McLean (Victoria) Holmes. He has also survived by his four grandchildren McLean Austin, Trinity Taylor, McKayla Anne and Talia Grace Holmes.

He grew up on Vyse and Edison Avenues in the Bronx.  He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas high school and Iona College.  Go Gaels! He had an ever progressing and successful career with Bristol Meyers starting out as a salesman and moving up as district manager, regional manager and VP of national sales with the mergers of Bristol Myers and Squibb.   They lived in Evansville, Indiana for a time before moving to Plainsboro, where they have lived for the last 35 years.  He served as a Eucharistic Minister and lector and was a member of the Knights of Columbus at Saint Paul Parish. He was also a past member of the Plainsboro Planning Board and Princeton Landing Board.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling the world. He and Kathleen traveled to all seven continents and included family members in their travels.  Just last year they were in Portugal and France. He enjoyed boating and vacationing for many years on Lake George.  He was an avid reader and a lover of the New York Times daily crossword.

Visitation will be held at Kimble Funeral Home on Monday, March 23 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Paul Parish, Tuesday March 24 at 10 AM.  Interment will be private.
