Toby Jonathan Markes, aged 30, passed away on 22 July 2021.

Born in Bedfordshire, England, on 17 June 1991, Toby was very proud of his English heritage. At age 5, Toby and his family moved to New Jersey, which he called home for the rest of his life. Although a resident of New Jersey, Toby frequently moved to different states across the country to gain life experiences, learn new cultures, and make new friendships.

Toby was a very compassionate young man; giving what little he had to others. He considered his wealth in life to be the memories he shared with the ones he loved most. A fantastic son, brother, uncle, and friend to many, and a striking example of a selfless leader, who was always putting others before himself.

In his circle of friends and family, he was known for his special bond with his nephews and niece. A tough exterior, yet so kind, sensitive, and loving. He will be so painfully missed by all those who adored him.

Toby will wish to be remembered for his kindness, humor, and love of music and travel. But will also be remembered for his smile, which could brighten even the darkest places.

He encouraged us all to love harder, be vulnerable, care more, and cherish time spent with loved ones. In his own way, he taught us the meaning of true love and how to care for those around you.

With a broken heart, we must continue on without you…. for now.
