Suquin Lu
October 6, 1935 - July 22, 2025
It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Lu Suqin, who peacefully passed away at Capital Health on the morning of Tuesday, July 22, 2025, after a long illness. She was 90 years old. Her younger daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughters were fortunate enough to share her company in her final days.
Suqin was born on October 6, 1935, in Yiyang, Henan Province, China to Shaozeng Lu and Xiu Ji. She attended Luoning High School, where she met her future husband, Xuejie Liu. Throughout her life, our mother was humble yet truly remarkable — hardworking, resilient, kind and strong. With her selfless love and unwavering strength, she held our family together and gave everything she had. She deeply loved her husband and children, caring for our father with devotion through all of life's ups and downs. She raised us with endless love and patience, and after we started families of our own, she continued to give selflessly, helping to care for her granddaughters and embracing new generations with warmth and love.
Our mother was independent, hardworking, and dedicated. She never shied away from any hardship. She worked at Luoyang Glass Factory, Quzhou Transformer Factory, and the Luoyang City Tunnel Bureau Staff School, where she carried out her duties faithfully and earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues and supervisors alike.
Outside of work, she was multi-talented and full of life. She had a passion for performing arts and actively participated in performances at her workplace and in the community. The vivid characters she portrayed on stage brought joy and warmth to all who watched her. She was also an excellent basketball player, representing her workplace in many competitions. Her energy and fighting spirit inspired many. She passed on her passion for sports and dance to her younger daughter, but more importantly instilled in her an optimistic, active approach to life that remains to this day.
Suqin was sincere, kind, and always willing to help others without concern for her own gain or loss. Her generosity and kindness earned her the love and respect of family, friends, and everyone around her. Throughout her life, she showed us the true meaning of love, strength, kindness, and selflessness. She gave the best of herself to her family. Though she has left us, her spirit of resilience, independence, dedication, and optimism will forever be engraved in our hearts. She will always be our role model and the source of our strength.
Mom, thank you for everything. You are and will always be our greatest comfort and our pride. We will love you forever and keep your memory alive in our hearts. May you be reunited with Dad in another world, free from pain and at peace.
Lu Suqin is survived by her daughter Liu Jingxiao and her husband Jin Hongyong, granddaughters Jin Xiaowei and her husband Yang Qi, and great-grandson Yang Ruichen; her daughter Liu Jinghua and her husband Michael Walker, and their children Sophia Walker and Mia Walker; her sisters Lu Sufen and Lu Sumin and their families, and many dear relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
We share this obituary with heavy hearts and invite all family and friends to keep her in your thoughts and prayers. A memorial service will be held on August 10, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:30 AM, at Kimble Funeral Home, One Hamilton Avenue, Princeton, NJ 08542.
