It is with great sadness and love that the family of Mathias Hafenmaier, announce his passing on December 4th, 2021 at the age of 83 years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, of 60 years, Lynda (Moyer) Hafenmaier; children: Joseph Hafenmaier and Jason Hafenmaier (wife Lorrie); his treasured grandchildren Kayla Taylor, Harley and Lucy; his sisters Marie Sheppard and Barbara Kyritsis; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Franz and Julianna Hafenmaier of Plainsboro and brother Francis Hafenmaier (wife Helen).

A lifelong Plainsboro resident, Mathias was a loving father, a member of The Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Union of New Jersey, and he served in Korea as a military police officer for two years.

Mathias' contribution as a mason/bricklayer can be found at his Plainsboro residence -- of which he built himself with his father and brother -- throughout Northern New Jersey and at Princeton University where he worked as a full time bricklayer from 1984-2005.

An avid outdoorsman, Mathias enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. He also enjoyed photography, gardening, collecting miniature classic cars and wooden ducks. A member of the Plainsboro Historical Society, Mathias loved telling stories about the town's history and his memories of growing up there.

Visiting hours are Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 9:00AM to 10:00AM at Kimble Funeral Home, 1 Hamilton Avenue, Princeton, NJ followed by a 10:30AM funeral mass at St. Paul Parish, 214 Nassau Street, Princeton, NJ.

Interment will follow the conclusion of the mass at Highland Cemetery, Hopewell, NJ
