Obituary

Margaret Giblin, born August 8th 1938 to Maude (Mary) and Arthur Barnard in London, England. After being evacuated during World War II, Margaret moved back and grew up in London, UK before living in Bishops Stortford, then Elsenham and and Sevenoaks, Kent with her husband Roger Giblin and their children, Alison and Ian. Margaret and Roger later lived in Ipswich (Suffolk, UK), and after Roger's death she moved to Tonbridge for a few years before moving to live with family in Princeton (USA) in 2022.

Aside from looking after her family, Margaret ran or participated in a variety of catering businesses and charities, being active in the Women's Institute (WI) for most of her life. She also very much enjoyed embroidery and needlework and will be fondly remembered by the quilting groups she joined over the years.

Margaret had a lifelong love of nature and dogs, not feeling a day was complete without a long dog walk, often with friends. She took great pleasure, in her last few years, from sitting at her window enjoying the birds, squirrels, foxes and deer which would come by.

Margaret passed away peacefully on January 1st 2024 and is survived by her children Alison and Ian, along with her four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
