John William Meuse Jr., of Princeton, New Jersey, passed away on September 26, 2026, after battling serious health issues, just short of his 78th birthday.

John was born in Dorchester, Massachusetts in 1948, to John W. Meuse Sr. and Rita Meuse (née O’Neil, later Madejewski). He grew up in Metuchen, New Jersey, where he attended St. Francis School and Saint Joseph’s High School.

He graduated from Villanova University and earned an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He worked in advertising within the boxboard industry and owned and operated his own business, Meuse Marketing Communications.

He met his wife, Linda (née Kaftanic), in high school. John and Linda raised their family in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, before moving to Princeton. He was an amateur luthier who crafted his own viola, which he played in several Philadelphia-area community orchestras. In retirement, he volunteered reading to elementary school students through the "GrandPals" program.

John was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles Meuse.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Meuse; his daughters, Elizabeth (Martin) Meuse-Cummiskey and Susan Meuse; his grandson, John Cummiskey; his sister, Cynthia (Craig) Lozak; and his sister-in-law, Marian Meuse (wife of the late Charles Meuse).
