Obituary

Hope Embley Bucci, 88, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Compassionate Care Hospice at RWJ Hospital in Hamilton, NJ, with her family by her side.

Born in Trenton, NJ on July 2, 1930 to Isabelle and Leon Embley, she was the last of their five children to pass away.  Hope grew up in Hopewell, NJ and lived in Skillman, NJ over 30 years, before taking up residence in Princeton, NJ.   Most recently, she has resided with her daughter in Plainsboro, NJ and spent the last 6 months at the Elms in Cranbury.

Prior to her retirement from the Princeton Regional Schools, as a cafeteria aide, for over 15 years, Hope opened and co-owned the Carousel Luncheonette, from 1964 until 1980, with her former husband Mario Bucci.

From a young age, Hope was an active volunteer and devoted her time to organizations that meant a lot to her.  She had a strong patriotism and love for her country.  She joined the American Legion Auxiliary in 1949.  From there her memberships grew to include Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary (1976), Princeton Engine Company #1 Ladies Auxiliary (1984) and life member of both the Ladies Auxiliary of the Mercer County Firemen's Association (1987) and Ladies Auxiliary of Fireman of the State of NJ (1989).

Hope was predeceased by her parents, four siblings; Geraldine Thomas and Richard, Ogden and Sheldon Embley and two beloved sisters-in-law; Emma and Helen Embley.

Surviving are two daughters Stephanie Bucci Bowyer and Rebecca Bucci Capuano, both of Plainsboro, NJ, son Mark Bucci of Manville, NJ and a granddaughter, Isabella Hope Capuano, to whom she was deeply devoted.  Throughout her life, Hope was blessed with many loving family members and friends.   She was always ready with a song and her sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
