Françoise Iweins de Wavrans, 69, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2016 of a brief and sudden battle with angiosarcoma.
Born in Brussels, Belgium, Françoise (or "Mimi" to those who knew her well), moved to the U.S. in 1972 with her then-husband, Emmanuel. On December 14, 1974, they welcomed their son, Philippe Emmanuel Snoy into the world. Philippe was the love and joy of Mimi's life.
Mimi was a beautiful woman inside and out. Passionate with a zest for life, she always loved a good adventure. Mimi adored traveling the world and among the places she held close to her heart were Sevilla, Provence and Brussels.
A 40-year resident of Princeton, Mimi cherished time with her friends, was a community volunteer, an avid and accomplished gardener and cook, and a member of the Princeton Present Day Club and the Dogwood Garden Club.
Mimi also loved music. Her favorite musicians included the Gypsy Kings, Toots Thielemans and Shirley Horn, and her dance moves in the kitchen while cooking could put a smile on anyone's face.
She is survived by her beloved son, Philippe and daughter-in-law, Jaime. Mimi's friends and family will remember her warmth, selfless devotion, infectious laughter, dignity and strength. Throughout her life, Mimi touched the hearts of many - but most of all Philippe and Jaime. She will be in our hearts forever.
Services will begin at 10:30AM on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 in Kimble Funeral Home, 1 Hamilton Avenue, Princeton, NJ, followed by an 11:00AM funeral mass celebrating her life in St. Paul's Catholic Church in Princeton, NJ.
Visitation is on Monday 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Cancer Charity4Life or Angiosarcoma Awareness, Inc.
