Evelyn
Gardner
d. Jul 8, 2018
Plainsboro
Evelyn "Ev" Olga Gardner (née Komyati) died unexpectedly on July 8, 2018 in Plainsboro, NJ after a slow decline of health after surviving lung cancer six years ago. She was 73.
Mrs. Gardner was born on March 1, 1945 in New York, NY to her parents, Nikolas and Olga Komyati. She married Joseph Somers in 1968 and one had son. Successively, Evelyn re-married in 1977 to Richard Paul Gardner and the two moved to Morris Plains, NJ where Evelyn worked in Real Estate. Her husband Richard (who passed in 1989) worked as a Quality Control Engineer for ITT Electronics. After Richard's passing, Mrs. Gardner relocated to Robbinsville, NJ with her son and retired after working as a USPS employee for several years.
Mrs. Gardner was an incredibly funny, down-to-earth woman with a golden heart. She was the life of the party, the wedding dancer, the first in line at Six Flags Great Adventure, the consummate beachgoer in Wildwood NJ, an expert Italian food cook and so much more. Mrs. Gardner was kind, loving and generous when at times had nothing. Her laughter was infectious and she always found humor in life, as well as, in all of those around her.
Mrs. Gardner is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Erik Gardner & Ruth Kaplan and their son, Noah of Playa Del Rey, CA; her brother, Joseph Komyati, his wife Gwen; and their three children.
Mrs. Gardner will be cremated in a private ceremony. A memorial will take place at a later date.
