Barry Peter Yanicek, 39, of Manville, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Somerset Medical Center, with his beloved family by his bedside.

Born in Somerville, Barry was a lifelong resident of Manville. He attended Somerset County Vocational Technical School in Bridgewater, graduating in 1989. After that, he worked in the auto body business in Somerset County for many years.

Barry loved auto racing, hot rods and custom motorcycles. He had a talent for pin striping and would customize cars, motorcycles and just about anything else he was given.

He is predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Jane Tasnady and paternal grandparents, Peter and Christine Yanicek. Barry is survived by his daughters Katharine and Sasha, for whom his love was boundless and his former wife, Christine Sokoloski, his father Barry Dean Yanicek and his companion Rosalie Puza, his mother and step-father Yolanda and Dave Mroz all of Manville, his sister Nicole Yanicek of Hamilton, two step-brothers Ronald Mroz of Manville and Edward Mroz of Wilmington, DE and a cousin Sigmund Jacob of Wichita, KS.

Following a private cremation, a memorial service will be held on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 6:00PM at the Manville Reformed Church, 238 S. Fifth Avenue Manville. After the service, everyone is invited to the church hall for fellowship and refreshment.
