Obituary

In loving memory of the one year passing of our mother Anne Hummel

Oct 14th 1937 - Jan 19th 2020

Anne Louise (Chmielewski) Hummel, a longtime resident of Plainsboro, New Jersey, passed peacefully on a Sunday morning on January 19th 2020 at 82 years after a short stay at Merwick Rehab and Nursing Care in Plainsboro, N.J. Anne was born in Shamokin Pennsylvania on October 14th 1937 to Polish parents John Chmielewski Anna Karaszewka Chmielewski.

Anne graduated in 1954 from Saint Edwards High School, Shamokin Pa.

Early in Anne's life, she worked as a bank teller and a hairdresser/beautician in Harrisburg Pennsylvania. She lived the majority of her life in New Jersey, retiring after 25 years as the secretary to the transportation division of the Middlesex County planning board in New Brunswick N.J.

She was creative in spirit in many ways throughout her long life and especially enjoyed writing poetry and short stories. She immensely enjoyed word games such as scrabble, crossword puzzles and word search puzzles.

A warm loving mother and grandmother who cherished her family. A gregarious soul with a great sense of humor, gentle, honest, and compassionate. Anne made friends easily wherever she went. An extremely caring selfless person, she always made people comfortable in her presence. Whatever adversity she faced in her long life, she always had a positive attitude and helped others when needed in theirs - whether family, friend or stranger.

Anne was married for 20 years to Paul Hummel originally from Kulpmont Pa, before her divorce they had two children. Survived by her daughter Janet Adam and son Robert Hummel and two granddaughters - Breanne Pizarro and husband Mauricio, Kerry Adam and great granddaughter Gabriela Pizarro. Predeceased by her older sister Mildred Koveleski, a registered nurse.

Anne's cremated remains will be interred at a later date next to her sister at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in her hometown of Shamokin Pa.

A life celebration took place in February of 2020.

She is missed immensely and remembered by those who loved and knew her.

We would like to thank the Plainsboro NJ Rescue and First Aid Squad who came to her aid several times over the recent years and hold immense gratitude for their dedicated compassionate service
