Obituary

Alice (Pat) Schannel (nee LemMon), of Lawrenceville, 69, peacefully went to heaven, in her home, with her loving family at her side, after courageously battling cancer. She was affectionately known by all as "Nonnie".

Born in New York City, Pat lived in Hopewell before moving to Lawrenceville in 1964, with her husband Tony.

Pat was a member of the Princeton Squatters Club, Princeton Elks Ladies Auxiliary, St. Paul's Church Altar Rosary Society and the Lawrence Township PTA. For many years, she was actively involved with her children as a Girl Scouts of America Troop Leader.

Pat recently retired after 40 years of educating and caring for over 60 pre-school children in her home. Her nurturing and encouraging attitude kept her house full.

Pat is an avid gardener and could often be seen tending to her beautiful plants and flowers. She loved to read and travel with her family. She loved the sound of the ocean, the look of falling snow, everything Christmas and Stephie, her cat.

Pat was loved by all who knew her. She was filled with compassion, determination and a love of life. She will be forever missed by so many.

She is predeceased by her mother Alice LemMon and brother George LemMon. Surviving are her loving husband Tony, 2 daughters and sons-in-law; Teri and Doug Rhodes and Missie and Ernie Parrey, a daughter Kelie McMaster and 6 grandchildren; Samantha Rhodes and her fiance', Kyle Rutherford, Liana Rhodes, Stephen and Brielle Parrey and Joshua and Olivia McMaster.
