EMILY MARIE BURNETT, 70, of Princeton, died on July 10, 2012 at the University Medical Center of Princeton. Born in Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada, Emily was raised in Durham, Ontario, Canada with her beloved sister Betty Kuhn (Matthew) now of Southern Pines, North Carolina.
Emily lived in Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa, where she was president of the local Newcomers’ Club and a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Alta Vista. After later settling in Princeton, New Jersey, she was a member of the Present Day Club, the Nassau Club, and served on the boards of Corner House and the Princeton YWCA.
Surviving are her beloved husband, of 47 years, Michael John Burnett; her son David and daughter-in-law Heather and her beautiful granddaughter and “best medicine” Sarah Abigail Courtney Burnett.
Interment will be at Princeton Cemetery, following a private family service. A celebration reception of her life, for family and friends, will be held at the Nassau Club, 6 Mercer Street, Princeton, New Jersey, on Friday July 13, 2012 from 3:30 – 5: 30 p.m.
