John Patrick O’Hara, 79, of Princeton Junction, NJ died on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Acorn Glen Assisted Living Residence in Princeton. Born in Brooklyn, NY, John’s family moved to Bay Shore, NY when he was a child. He has been a resident of the Princeton area since 1971.
John was honorably discharged from the US Air Force, as an Airman First Class, after serving his country from 1951 to 1955. He then attended and graduated from both the State University of New York at Farmingdale, NY and Wagner College on Staten Island, NY, where he received his B.S. in Chemistry.
For his entire working career, he was employed as a chemist by the Mobil Oil Company, later to become Exxon Mobil.
John was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Marie O’Hara and younger brother Andrew of Austin, TX. He was the devoted husband of his wife Ann and loving father of his son John, Jr. of Hamilton, NJ and his daughter Deirdre at home. Also surviving are his dear granddaughter Erin O’Hara, a brother Joseph of Sayville, NY, a sister Mary Catherine McManus of Bluffton, SC and many nieces, nephews and first cousins here in America and Ireland.
Funeral services will begin on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the Kimble Funeral Home, 1 Hamilton Avenue, Princeton followed by a 10:30AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Princeton. Interment will be at Princeton Cemetery.
Visiting hours are Friday, July 6, 2012 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the funeral home.
