Carol W. Hoffman,83, died May 14, 2012 in Princeton, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Homer A. Weigle and Nora B. Weigle. She was born July 28, 1928 in Chicago,IL. She grew up in Lombard a western Chicago suburb. Carol attended Kalamazoo College majoring in Spanish and Sociology. She received her BA degree in 1950. Later she attended the National College of Education in Evanston, IL and the College of New Jersey. Carol taught kindergarten in Lombard and nursery school at the Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church. She taught Compensatory Education at the Lawrence Township public schools and at St. Joachims in Trenton. On April 14, 1956 she married Henry T. Hoffman, Jr. The couple moved to Barrington, IL where her husband was employed as a research chemist for American Can Company. In 1964 they moved to Lawrenceville, NJ upon transfer to the new Princeton American Can Research Laboratory. Carol is survived by her husband, Henry Hoffman; children: Tom Hoffman of Alexandria, VA; Julie Mindnich of Lavallette, NJ; Heidi Servilla of Rumson, NJ; her grandchildren: Monica and Timothy Mindnich; Dylan and Brett Servilla. She is predeceased by her sister France Law. She has two nieces, Sarah Shatzer of Iowa and Wendy Machlitt of Minnesota. Carol was a member of the Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church and served as Deacon, Elder, and taught Sunday School. She was a member of the Garden Gate Garden Club, Mercer County Master Gardeners, and a Lawrence Arts Council board member. A memorial service will be held on May 19, 2012, 4:00 pm, at the Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church.
